Organizations cannot be free from conflict. Different priorities, incomplete information and strong emotions are part of working life, but a conflict can also become an opportunity to improve a relationship.

Start by listening

Before proposing a solution, make sure each person can explain what happened, what they need and what outcome would feel fair. Reflecting the other person’s point of view does not mean agreeing with it; it shows that the issue has been heard.

Move from blame to action

Use specific examples, separate facts from assumptions and focus on the next useful action. A written agreement about ownership and timing can prevent the same disagreement from returning.

With customers

Respond quickly, acknowledge the impact and explain what can be done. Clear boundaries and honest updates usually protect trust better than a promise that cannot be kept.
